About Me
I’m Adam, an IT Business Analyst in Austin, Texas. At the Texas Facilities Commission, I’m a technical advisor to the CIO, I lead our in-house application development team, and I run the weekly Change Control Board. Lately, most of my energy goes into AI governance: figuring out how a state agency can adopt tools like Claude Enterprise and GitHub Copilot responsibly, and then helping people actually use them well.
I got here by way of a lot of hands-on work. At Texas A&M’s MakerPlace, I grew a 3D printing center from 5 printers to more than 30 and automated the queue that fed them. At St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, I ran the Upper School’s infrastructure, moved 250+ Macs to zero-touch deployment, and became a Jamf Certified Expert along the way. Each role taught me the same lesson: technology works best when it’s built around the people using it, and when the documentation is good enough that the next person isn’t starting from scratch.
Outside of work, I run a homelab on Unraid, tinker with self-hosted services and local AI models, and still print more things than I need. This blog is where I write up what I build, mostly so I can remember how I did it, and occasionally so it saves someone else an afternoon.
